Deep Well of the Imperial Castle's by siffer

Nurnberg - Germany, Bayern The highlight of the castle tour is the 14th C Deep Well, sunk 150 down to a water source for use during siege. Tunnels extending from the bottom offered sources of food ( or escape ). The tour guides put on their show here. First, water is poured into the well to show how long it takes to hear a splash ( 6 seconds ). Then the lighted candles pictured are dropped slowly to illustrate the depth. A fitting finale to the tour.
