Amsterdam - Netherlands, Noord-Holland One of Amsterdam's most popular theatre venues in the early 20th C, it was gutted and used as a collection point during WWII for Jews headed to the east and their deaths. Of 107000 deported, only about 5000 survived. Only the facade remains. The interior has been converted into a poignant memorial to their plight.
