The Small Fortress - The Fourth Yard's by siffer

Terezin - Czech Republic The largest and newest yard at The Small Fortress was built in 1944 to house the ever increasing number of prisoners. Its large rooms held up to 400 people with four level open bunks ( and lots of floor space ). At the far triangular end was an executions site for attempted escapers and randomly selected prisoners. Death was usually by firing squad but occasional prisoners were stoned to death.
