Hecho is a small Pyrrenean village, which is none the less the largest place in its own magical valley, that stretches up past the even tinier village of Siresa with its ancient monastery to wonderful mountains near the French border.
The village of Hecho gives an exaggerated impression of extreme antiquity [it's not really all that old] with its layers and steps.
If you want to see it using public transport, you are virtually obliged to stay the night as the only bus to it from Jaca runs in the evening and the only return bus in the early morning. This hardly constitutes an irksome restriction, since those with no taste for mountain climbing can easily walk to Siresa and back.
The shops, though very few in number, are surprisingly well stocked. [edit text]  [editors]
