I was inspired to put together a London slideshow by my fellow London snappers Isabelle (Frenchfrog) and Amanda (Mistybleu). I chose as a theme some of London’s more interesting statues and sculptures.
Some are thought provoking like the image of Gandhi overlooking the site of the London bus bomb in 2005, and the nearby memorial to those who died that day. Then there is the symbolism of Ganapathi and Devi standing together on the Sun St roundabout and the two Dali sculptures near the London Eye. There’s weird stuff like the giant coffee bean near Tower Bridge, three large sheets of scrap iron that look as if they have been dumped in the street and the huge lump of metal called Piscator outside Euston station.
There is only so much you can convey in a title but you can find out a bit more about the history, location, creators etc. of each piece by looking in my main picture gallery.
Hope you enjoy looking at them and you search out some if you visit London.
