Hi everybody,

I have noticed, that a lot of members are communicating across guest books. For example "member 1" is posting something into "member 2" guest book, "member 2" goes to the other member page and replies to it. And so on. This seems not to be a good way, since other members cant't figure out what those entries mean.

Does anybody have a suggestion on how to improve this? Would it be helpfull to be able to reply inside your own guest books on those posts?

any ideas, requests?

Andy

Use the guest book for what it is... to sign your thoughts and name about the site of the person your looking at. In non-internet based places this is what the guest book is used for. The owner of the book can then learn from what people write to make a better site or leave as is.

add a "send an email to___" button if they wish to have a dialogue.

I think you cannot avoid this criss-crossing in the guestbook. The more 'criss-crossing' the more interaction between the members. This is a good thing the more members are involved the longer they stay loyal and go on writing.

For more personal contact you have given the e-mail option, I don't think you need to make any changes or adaptations.

What I would like though is a direct link to the person who wrote in my guestbook so that I can answer without first going to profile and then on to this person's page.

If you want an example have a look at http://www.reisweb.nl Before you can have a look you must register, it's in Dutch that is no problem I suppose.
