Finding Provinces

I realize that it is important to designate a province, since there are so many times when cities share the same name in the same country. But when I'm traveling around another country, I'm not always aware what province I'm in, and I'm not having much luck finding a good central place to look these things up on the web. The great affair is to move.” Robert Louis Stevenson Reply    Reply with quote    Contact marianne   whereisliz Joined: Oct 03 Points: 8654 Posts: 164 Posted: 2003-10-30 16:13:00    Yes, maps are essential when traveling, but what I'm speaking to here is when I'm in GLOBOsapiens and say, I want to suggest a new city, and the GLOBO form asks me for a province and I don't know what it is... most of the maps that I'm finding through web searches either don't include provinces at all, or if they do, often times the particular city I need isn't listed on the map. Very frustrating! What would be ideal is some sort of web-based database that you can choose the country, enter the city name and see what province it's in. Or just a very detailed on-line atlas. Anyone know of a good web resource?
