Since it's basically an act of copying over from the already uploaded pictures, it's impossible to edit the information of the pictures on the photo album. So I went to my pictures and edited the descriptions from there, thinking they might show up on the album.

However, what appears now on the album are only the keywords of the pictures, not the full description. I think that might be a problem because photo albums are meant for sharing the full description of the pictures with viewers, not just one or two keywords.

Also, perhaps it might be helpful to allow members to more easily arrange the pictures within the album. Now it feels like I am playing a puzzle whenever I try to change the order of the pictures! :O)

Added to #1324 of the to-do list, I know you have lots more to do... keep it in mind only when you're free! Cheers

The info displayed unerneath the picture inside the albums is the caption of the pictures uploaded. The title. The keywords do have nothing to do with the album, they are just for the internal pictures search engine. If they are displayed this is an error and it has to be fixed. (Are you sure it's the keywords?) The description could also be displayed inside the album if this is a wish, but keep in mind that people do moslty not want to read to much while displaying a slide show.

What do the other GLOBOsapiens member think about this? Should we include the full discription into the photo album? Jump into the discussion and let me know.

The puzzle thing is really a bit of a hazle. This needs some improvement. For now as a quick fix follow downundergal's recommendation and copy them into the album as you would like to have them displayed. I will add this to the to do list (no 9422 :-))

Cheers, Andy

Ah... no no no. Only bug here is in my head... heh. The album does show the caption. Thus, I think a comfortable position between a lengthy description and a short caption is quite simply for members to add a bit more details to the caption, if they wish to. Now I have to go back there and see if the caption is limited to a certain number or characters.

;-)) as I remember correctly, the caption is limited to 100 characters, which fits the 600 px wide pictures in width.

How do you like the idea of the adress system on GLOBOsapiens?

e.g.

http://www.globosapiens.net/photo-album/inzaghi

http://www.globosapiens.net/travellog/inzaghi

http://www.globosapiens.net/inzaghi

right now only the /membername one does count to the referrer points, but next week with a new version all of them will help to increase the referrer number.

Referrer? -->

http://www.globosapiens.net/main/010800.html

I think this is a great idea. It is great to remember and it helps to get more people who are interested into travel to join GLOBOsapiens.net

Members can pass friends easy to remember personalised links to their travel page on GLOBO and they will automaticly be credited for this in the same time.

Just not sure how many members realise that they have personanlised links ?!

I think the address system cannot be any better, nor any simpler. It's already like having a personal homepage or something, not unlike a website on geocities (which uses the same notation).

As an aside, I am going to be using my travel log to also record my confirmed future trips. Not only for while I am already on the go.

I'm sorry to bring this up again, but I really would like to be able to show the description of the photos in the albums as well. I send basically all my family and friends to Globosapiens if they want to see my holiday photos, and it's always nice giving them an explanation as well. Sure, they could read them in the Gallery, but most of my family are unable to do more than two clicks before they're lost :)

Would it be possible to make an option where you can choose if you want the description or not? If this is too dificult, please forget I ever asked!

globosapiens.net has, by the way, quickly become my favorite website :D

hmmm.. I will give it a deeper thought. It seems that there is a need for it.

Thanx for the compliment :-) (If you like you can put some comment in the what I really like about GLOBOsapiens.net forum)
