andreas Joined: May 02 Points: 8309 Posts: 808 Posted: 2004-05-11 20:05:00    Hi there, I am happy to say that the chat is now finally working with most browsers and systems :-) Now there is another chalenge... how to get people to the chat in the same time? I saw that some members missed only by minutes and they left because there was nobody in the chat. There is already a "invite to chat" function inside the member profiles, but did not help to much so far. Maybe someone has a good idea. I am open for suggestions on improving the chat so we can all interact more and get to know people from all over our beautiful planet. let me know about it... I just had a (sort of) chat with Beograd but she was in the office 11am & had to go & I am at home & it's 7pm...maybe that's the problem. The difference in time zones is your biggest hurdle & until you get the huge volume of members as in icq or similar maybe there isn't an answer... but on the plus side there is so many other great features on Globo that maybe people don't get round to viewing the chat line cause they are too busy reading, writing etc. Anyway it's early days... My main problem is that I use Safari as my web browser, so when someone signals me to chat, I have to quit Safari and Launch MS Explorer, and then there's a significant delay (1-2 minutes at least) before Explorer displays the text of the chat -- sometimes the other person has given up and gone away by then! I am checking into Foxfire, I see they do have a Mac OS X version available.
