I am giving three thumbs up for this place, due to its location, right at the beach, where fishing boats rest, and from where the sunset looks great and one can watch how the beach gets animated in the afternoon. Food is great, but slightly overpriced, though. I tried excellent seafood platter, which was really tasty but rather small. more
Garage Club
I loved this place, particularly its rooftop bar, where one can cool down with a cold beer. The club gets busy quite late, but when it does, it gets packed. Music when I visited in 2005 was 1980s disco mixed with local rhythms. more

Their Thai food is excellent, but the menu contains also international dishes, and of course fish. The decor is fantastic and the garden is a bliss, when one wants to cool down. The place converts into a club, which gets hot. more
Malindi Lodge
Excellent budget option near the port, some 15 minutes walk from the old fort, along the coast. The rooms are basic, but clean and the beds are comfortably firm. The bathroom is adequate. When I visited it was about €15 per night. The street next to the hotel gets animated at night. more

Deep into de laberinthic city center. 10$ single room shared cold water bathroom. 15$ room with bathroom.
