Monterry - City of Mountain

Monterrey is the capital city of the state of Nuevo León in Northern Mexico. It counts about 4 million inhabitants, thus being the 3rd largest city of the country. It a pretty rich business city and quite americanized.
Monterrey is surrounded by mountains, the most famous one is called "Serro de la Silla" (Horse saddle mountain)!

Favourite spots:

- Macroplaza, a wonderful area in the city center consisting of parks, sculptures and all the important sights
- Barrio Antiguo, the old town, hosts a superb nightlife
- Zona Rosa, the shopping area

What's really great:

The nature around Monterrey! Places to visit include:
- Chipinque National Park
- La Huasteca National Park
- Waterfall Cola de Caballo
- Caves Grutas de García

Sights:

- Macroplaza (Catedral, Palacio del Gobierno,...)
- Obispado
- Cervecería Cuauhtemoc
- Museo de la Historia Mexicana

Nightlife:

Café Iguana was my favorite bar in the Casco Antiguo. It plays alternative music. On fridays the entry is for free.
