I plan to travel to Altai this summer. This will be my first time here. And everything that I have read about this region fascinated me.
May be someone from this community have travlled here and can recommned interesting places to visit. I would greatly appreciate it. And one more thing do someone know where it is possible to find maps of Altai?

hey,
I went to Altai last year. Although I did not spend much time in the city itself, I must say that Kanas Lake is beautiful. If you can make it up there for a couple of days, certainly do that. There are some really interesting tour groups, for example my group stayed in Mongolian style yurts. Afterwards, we went on a horseback journey to a small town called Hemu. Although I would not recommend the horseback (it was a grueling 12 hour trip), Hemu was excellent because it still has retained its small town charm despite being opened to tourism only five years ago.
