Does anybody knows Mission Beach Visitor Centre? My girl-friend will go for a practical training there for 6 months. Is it a nice place to stay? Any answer would be of help.
I can't really say how the visitor center in Mission Beach is, but the area is really nice. Mission Beach is just a few hours south of Cairns the tropical capital of North East Australia. There is lots to see. If you hit the road north towards Cape Tripulation you will see some awesome landscape. Rainforest, Crocks, beautiful tree snakes and a lot of nature. Get a 4X off road truck and go for the interior.
GLOBOsapiens.net members have uploaded lots of pictures on the east coast of Australia. There is even one particular picture of Mission Beach itself. However the area around will for certain be of interest for your girl friend. South of Mission Beach you will find Airlie Beach (about 7 hours) which is the moast beautiful island scenary I have ever seen in my live. Get on one of the sail boats and set off for White heaven beach. This is something you definatelly do not want to miss if you (or your girlfriend ) are in East Australia.

Wow, what a fantastic opportunity.
I agree with Andy, Mission Beach is a beautiful location but very small. It is a great entry point to explore the North Queensland area and especially the Great Barrier Reef.
If you have never tried to scuba it is a great time to learn and be spoilt with the diving the Reef has to offer. Get your ticket and you won't regret it.
Good Luck!
