Hi
The best fares from Europe are on the Cape Verde national carrier, TACV (airline code: VR). They have one boeing 757 flying from Lisbon, Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, and Italy to Sal – their only airport suitable for jet planes. Lisbon and Amsterdam are the best places to leave from regarding fares. Recently TACV bought the second boeing (737) planned for African routes. Probably soon TACV will offer Europe-to-Africa flights with an interesting Cabo Verde stopover. Since there is no frequent, reliable inter-island ferry service you will be forced to use the TACV small turboprop planes to move between islands. If you will fly TACV to Cabo, you have an advantage: You can buy an inexpensive airpass for 3-5 flights between islands for 50 Euros per flight segment. The only alternative ferry connection is an old junk sailing from Mindelo to the island of Santo Antao... In my opinion Santo Antao is the most interesting island. But do not expect beaches there...
