We've planned to go canoeing in Canada. I like to know more about this, if you've canoed somewhere in Canada let me know your experiences.

I went canoeing in Wells Gray Provincial Park in central BC 2 years ago. You can check my travellog and pictures for some more info on it. I am also working on a report about Wells Gray, but haven't finished it yet. If you love waterfalls, Wells Gray si the place for you.

If you're coming to Vancouver, kayaking is extremely popular on the ocean. Two spots in Vancouver area are popular kayaking centres, and you can rent kayaks: Deep Cove in North Vancouver, and Bowen Island off West Vancouver.

Good health and high spirits!

maybe one can help you better if you told us "where" in canada your planning on staying. Canada's big, lots of lakes, rivers, isolated, populated.

I know of one lake in NW Ontario where there are no motorized vehicles of any type allowed on it.

You can canoe in Provincial parks or not..

so many choices..

if you narrow it to place that would help.

Algonquin National Park in Ontario also offers some great canoe/camping experiences, for all levels - from beginners who need to learn to canoe and need a guide, to people who know everything and want to do the whole trip themselves. http://www.algonquinpark.on.ca/campcan.html

Hope that helps!

Yiou also can go to Mayne Island, stay in the Root Seller Inn and rent a kayak at the Blue Vista. And then you can "tour" all the other beautiful Gulf Islands.

You might look up my travel log, where I tell a bit of kayaking around Mayne Island.

Hello,

I'm Canadian and I would recommend Algonquin Park in Ontario.
