hi, i plan to travel prague followed by germany in Mid August, but the flights just covered my hometown ( hong kong) to Prague, and munich to hong kong, but not prague to munich, i plan to travel from prague to munich by renting a car , then continue my car trip in germany , and finally return the car in airport before flying back home. but ... is it a good idea to cross the border by car? what i find is it seems taking less time by car ( says 3.5hrs.from prague to munich) instead of train ( 5-6hrs.) , or are there severe traffic jam in this route? i ve experience of driving in france .
There is no problem crossing the border between Czech Republic and Germany as they are now both in the EU. You will require the correct visas though if you are travelling on a Chinese passport.
Why are you travelling by car though????
If you think this will be quick I doubt it . Also Are you intending to drive it one way from Prague to Munich this will be quite difficult to arrange and if so probably expensive because most car rental have a one way surcharge.
By far the quickest would be an IC or express train ..
