Hi Globies!
Did anybody climb the holy mountain of Emeishan? How long time does it take? Is the sunrise view at the top really such impressive? Could I expect to pay any entry fees?
Thanks...
Wojtek

Well, in China you have to choose carefully depending on your route plan and the lenght of the stay.
Emeishan is nice, I didnīt climb it but I saw the scenery and is impresive, like in many other places in China, great forests, bambu, monkeys, chinesse bridges, rivers, temples, scenery, peaks, sacred places, etc ....
I favour is that realy close is Leshan,a big city with not much to see except for the huge Budha carved in the rock ... amazing ... a must!
If you have time I think that climb the HuangShan mountains (Yellow mountains) close to Hangzhou and Wuhan is much better.
There you can see the great sea of clows!!
And near HuangShan mountains (In Tangkou town) there are cities like Shanghai or Hangzhou with the lake, or wuhan, the last stop for the YangTze river ship.
I personally choosed the yellow mountains and were a great experience.
Yeah, expect to pay an entrance ticket in any sacred mountain in China and the climb can take from 1 to 3 days depending on you. Both are not hard, well marked and there are cheap accomodation up there.
Look always for the barracks behind the hotels!! Cold but really cheaper!!
