I found a great article today by Rick Steves that I wanted to pass on to you. It's full of inspiring and helpful advice about how to have the best experience on your next trip.
"Pledge every morning to do something entirely different today. Meet people and create adventure... or bring home a boring journal."
Also, I'd love to hear about any ideas or stories that people have about how to connect with locals when traveling -- since those experiences have always been the best and most memorable parts of my trips.
