Just as a thought, as an addition would it be possible to add an option to be able to write an overview of a country or particular area as opposed to a particular town or city?
I noticed that other people have come across this in the past, for example Britman's "Self drive in Thailand" is loaded as Chiang Mai whereas if there was a general Thailand button it could be loaded there. Another example would be Porcipines Barcelona, he starts in Barcelona but ends up in Granada.
I have a number of tips that I would like to include for Spain but I would prefer not to choose a random city to include this info but load it as a general topic.
Cheers,
Kerrie<p>[ This Message was edited by: downundergal on 2006-11-11 09:09 ]

Kerrie,
Very good suggestion. Maybe if you suggest it as a new destination?

I agree, my trip through south east africa is hard to describe here as I have to break it down by town/city, but we were going through two towns a day...

This is an excellent suggestion; as most times when I write a report it is more about the country then the specific place. As I tend to travel around quite a lot and many not have sufficent information on specific city to write a complete report.

Any news on this one?
I thought about suggesting a new Landmark but the choice of "country" would need to be added to make it correct.
It seems that it would generate more reports on Globo.
Is it a big job to load up a country choice or even an area i.e Andalucia.
Thanks,
Kerrie

Sorry but I disagree. There will be a conflict in the "hierarchy" of the databank technically. I think. To write a report on a whole country is too far too general anyway if the visit was only a few days. If the visit was a long one should rather write a book? If the country is small, simply upload the report to the capital city. If one doesn't have enough information about a certain city to write a report then use the shortened version "destination report" and perhaps a few individual "travel tips"?

Nice that we can right reports on large or small lakes, islands or mountains too. Perhaps we could add a new category "routes" which could cover the wish for trails, train trips like the "Orient Express", river and ocean cruises and cross country driving like "Route 66" or "N1" and tracing historical paths.

R'Rudi

[Tip: If one runs out of writing space in a report or needs flexibility the unlimited "travel log" space is useful]
