We are planning our trip to Egypt and are hoping to spend one week Oasis Hopping in the Western Desert. These are some of the locations we are looking at: Siwa Oasis, the Great Sand Sea, Bir Wahed, Fossil Mountain, Setra, Nueimsa, al-Arag, Bahariya Oasis, Valley of the Golden Mummies, White Desert, Farafra Oasis, Dakhla Oasis, Al Qasr, Kharga, and Baris Oasis.
If anyone has been, I would appreciate some feedback and an idea of what to expect.
Thanks!
Eire

Eire, I was in Siwa Oasis, absolutely worth the trip. We wanted to back to Alexandria / Cairo via the southern route but there was no public transport. We wanted to go to Bahariya oasis but there was only private transport. We did not go, also because it is 400 km away.
We were here in 2002 maybe there is better transport these days, but I doubt it.
From May onwards it is VERY hot and people stay indoors during most of the day. We were here early May and the climate was perfect.
