I've just taken an 18 month job in the south of Maine but have no clue what that part of the worlds all about. I need flat info and basic travel tips (how to get from here to there real cheap!)

I lived in Moody Beach Maine about 15years ago. It's on the Southern Coast, near Kennebunkport (made famous by the Bush family having a house there..)
Did a bit of touring around. It's a very beautiful state so make sure you see some of it.

That's great! I'm going to be living in Kennebunkport. Well I will be if I can find a flat. There seems to be loads of seasonal places but hardly anything long term. Any idea how long it takes to drive to Canada from there?

Not sure of the drive time to Canada. Dependings on where you are going. check a map..
Re the flat, the people you are going to work for should be able to help you with finding a place to live, considering the distance you are coming from. Yes there are a lot of seasonal places there, but there still should be places to rent on a more full time basis.
