My boyfriend and I recently got back from a trip from San Francisco. We both had a pretty tight budget for the trip, so we got a package deal through orbitz and bought a go card for all the stuff we wanted to do in San Fran while we were there. I had to post about it in the forum because it really is a great deal for anyone wanting to save a little money visiting attractions in San Francisco. We both bought a pass for three days for about 200 dollars (100 for both.) We went on wine tours, visited museums, took a walking tour, exploritorium, etc. It would have cost us one hundred dollars more if we didn't have the card. I suggest it to anyone who is going to be in the San Fran area for awhile and wants to get a little bit of everything.

Yeah it was a really great deal, it also helped us plan out what tours/things we were going to do. It's really easy to get overwhelmed in such a big, colorful city. I also liked that they give you a guide book when you go to help you out with your travels with coupons and listing of resturants etc.

Thanks for posting this kind of information -- it's great to find out about a good deal when it's not too late to take advantage of it. Just one question... did you get this card through Orbitz, or exactly how does one aquire it?

You can buy the card on the website (http://www.gosanfranciscocard.com) they send you the card in the mail, or i believe they also told us we had the option of picking it at will call somewhere in san fran. I'm not certain of the details because we had them delivered to us before we traveled but they did give us that option before we ordered.

Thanks for the web site info... you're so right, that card could save you quite a bit of money, if you are planning some vigorous days of sightseeing. I noticed that San Francisco is not the only city they have these, either:

"We offer Go Visitor Cards in Boston, Seattle, Orlando, Chicago, and starting June 10, San Diego. We are launching new cities all the time. Visit GoCardUSA.com for the full list. "

I've used similar types of discount cards in European cities as well -- Paris has a great one, as does Arles, France. This kind of research before you go can really pay off.

Hello Dreamweaver,

thank you for the info. Why dont you post some sanfranciso momories into a report or upload some pictures. That would be great. I do sometimes get a bit suspicious on postings from members who only have posted a particular tip like this. It gives it a flavour of gurilia marketing. Looking forward to read some interesting things about SF from you in the future :-)

Regards,

Andy
