My husband and I are going to Amsterdam next week and we will like to know about the places that we should go and the places that we shouldn't go at all. Can I get some advice?

The problem with globo reports is that they will always tell you where to go, never relly where not to go.
Then again, I have been to Amsterdam twice, and I don't think there is anywhere that you can't/shouldn't go.
Amsterdam is one of those cities where I would suggest you do the tourist thing. Go on a canal boat tour, go to a "coffee shop", visit the red light district and even go to a sex show.
But make sure you take in some of the less touristy things as well. Rent a bicycle and see whre it takes you. The Amsterdam botanical gardens are fantastic and they have a great zoo as well.
Just do what you fancy, it's hard to not enjoy amsterdam, no matter what kind of person you are.
