Hello Globo,

I was watching TV today, in a meeting, Mr. Bush was talking about Iraq War, he said that the war was his fault, there were false evidences that Iraq produced nuclear weapons or etc... Now I thought that especially American people should think about, thousands of people died in that war, and also their sons died as soldiers because of a MAN' s fault. I think American people shouldn't celebrate Christmas this year, and think about the dead innocent people for one second if they can still think something.

Rgrds,
Herta

Merry Christmas to you, too. It really is sad to see pejorative sentiments and vitriolic on our wonderful site. Regardless, amidst sentiments of hatred and ill-will for others, we members at Globo wish all a safe and prosperous holiday season.

Russ

I'm very happy, even though a LOT of governments world-wide have made mistakes in the past and thousands have died, it is exactly CHRISTMAS that brings peace and hope to me!

Throughout history man has made war, look at the statistics, the world has realy become more peaceful!

I sometimes am ashamed for americans but we must always remember that they helped liberate hundreds of million people in both World Wars, Kuwait and Yugoslavia. We should not blame/penalise them because of a leader or the current situation. Christmas is a time to reconcile and admit our OWN weaknesses [Bush done that!], strengthen friendships and help the poor and lonely in these generally hard times and promise to do better... [We can do that!]

I'm personally going through a rough-time now but find Christmas a break to forget about bothers and celebrate and enjoy festivities. I'm glad to see most of the world having and "end-of-the-year-fest" and promoting that spirit often in the name of "Christmas".

A current new cinema film "Joyeux Noel" (Merry Christmas) -- a joint German, British, Belgian, French and Romanian production directed by Christian Caron - a true story, enemies put down their weapons for a while during WW1 to show that all men are a like and war is futile. Shows the power of Christmas. Film details at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0424205/

NB: Christians are forced but tolerate pagan, evil or non-religious festivities during the whole year: weird TV-events and Music-Concerts, over-advertised and often fixed Sports-Events, Love-Parades, forced Corporation do's, etc

hi Rudi & bear,

I think you re blind to real world and the strategy:) America helped Kuwait because of their petrol, and helped Yugoslavia because of breaking them in to small pieces, that's all..once upon a time I visited america and their conditions, people are not same as in their films, people are trying to find cents on the streets, asking for money etc. I think God can see everything and will smash that FAT PEOPLE soon, bear these are not pejorative sentiments, these are real, and dont avoid from real things anymore...

This year our region witnessed wars, dead people and tragic events. Iraq is our neighbour and we are all brother and sister with them because of the same religion. They are fully innocent but died with bombs, weapons, this is realy big humanity crime, but in addition to this America is big and powerfull, so a few words like "we are sorry, there is no evidence that we attacked Iraq and killed the innocent people" can be forgiven by the world! The only reason is power of America, and nobody can say "you re guilty and should be punished". I m sad this year, and will pray God for better days and justice for all people.

with kind regards,
Burak.
