Im going to Barcelona soon.. because some posts I have read, Lonely Planets reviews and other forums.. I will stay in Gothic Point Hostel...
The problem is the following: my brother told me Gothic Point Hostel is not in the center (I don't know how well he knows the city). I am worried it is far from the center and get kicked in the ass by my friends ‘cause I choose the hostel... Can u help me get oriented?? Thanks..
Gothic Point Youth Hostel (web: http://www.GothicPoint.com/index2.html) is located just 1 block from the Jaume I metro station which is about 5 blocks from Las Ramblas – It is a well located establishment, just outside the right edge of the Gothic Quarter.
You can find it on the QDQ.com map, as well as photos of the address - and you can take a virtual stroll in photos throughout the area - by clicking the link below:
Take it easy.. Gothic Point is well located. The center of Barcelona is "formed by" three main barrios...Borne Barri, Gothic Barri and the Raval Barri.
Gothic Point is located between the Borne and the Gothic Barri... you can walk to the main places without taking public transportation. Your friends have nothing to worry about. Las Ramblas are like 5minutes walking, the Picasso Museum is like 2 minutes far.. Plaza catalunya is like 10 minutes walking.. but everywhere you walk... you will see a lot of interesting places: nice restaurants, bars, stores, pretty streets, beautiful buildings,, the cathedrial.. etc....
Dont worry, Gothic Point is a good choice. big, clean, safe (very important) and economic. You will have a lot of options to have a drink, restaurants.. and trendy stores.. specially in the Borne District.
