This seems pretty expensive for Germany (and Europe?), specially the service fee (monthly or yearly?) but practicle for large companies which like to carry the cost of the incomming calls.
In Germany we use the "call-by-call" method and precodes like summarised at www.billig-tarife.de/telefontarife/ausland.htm the rates of which are currently (example) about 1 cent per minute to UK, 2c to USA or 11c to Far East Asia, no extra monthly charges. Uncomplicated, the amounts are automatically billed in detail to ones normal telephone account. For small businesses dealing internationally one can use this method too, calling the client back!
Local "Telekom" rates here are as much as 25c/min locally and €2/min internationally.
For international travel I prefere using local call shops, email or chat via internet. Prepaid telephone cards are sometimes very good deals too.
