Hi, I'm looking for a partner to go on a crazy expedition with me. I am planning to Kayak up part of the Yenesy river in Siberia and across the Arctic circle to the arctic ocean, and we need to do it before the end of August, I think it gets colder then.
My plan is to take the Tran-siberian from Bejing - Krasnoyarsk
Option 1 - Kayak from Krasnoyarsk - Dudinka (1800Km)
Option 2 - Take boat Krasnoyasrk - Turkhmunsk - Kayak to Duduinka (400 - 500KM)
Option 1 will take around 60 days (I think)
Option 2 will take around 10 - 12 days
(the above is based on Kayaking 30Km per day, maybe we could do more, the current is carrying us towards the sea)
We would be camping along the way, I have a small 1 man tent, so you need your own. I'm stoppping in Hong Kong get cold weather gear. And would like to depart Hong Kong at latest mid July. The average temp is around 10 degrees July / August and rainfall gets heavier towards August.
I believe a business visa is avalid for 3 months, and both option 1 and 2 would see us take a 6 day boat ride back to Krasnoyarsk and I/we would continue from there to Moscow on the tran-siberian.
