Thinking about moving to the Gold Coast in June with my boyfriend....we have a few mates over there and i've been hearing good and bad comments about living there....we have been on holiday and thought it was okay apart from Surfers Paradise!!! any experiences from anyone who lived there would be appreciated

It depends on what you want and where you are planning on living. I have lived on the Gold Coast for almost 20 years except for a couple of years in Airlie Beach and I wouldn't live anywhere else. We have great weather (most of the time, last month was an exception), great shopping, restaurants, beaches and rainforests a short drive away. Summer is humid but winters are mild. Everything is central. We have one of the highest growth rates in Australia so all the other Kiwis that move here can't be wrong I think you will have to turn the light off when you leave.
