If I want to upload tips or reports for Mexico City should I do this under the heading Mexico Distrito Federal?

If this is the case how will people ever find these tips or reports, unless they know that Mexico Distrito Federal equals Mexico City.

It took me some time to figure this out, but I am still not sure about it.

I would prefere "Mexico City" but that's not in the databank. I would neither expect (at fierst glance) to search under "Mexico Distrit." for info about this city. I read up that Distrito Federal is just the political name for the more common Cuidadde Mexico or Mexico City. All three names show the same population and area in statistics, just like District of Columbia is for Washington DC.

Different would be if the district contained other cities within its borders like New York (City) is in New York (State), Beijing (city) in the far larger District of Beijing or our Greater London argument a few months ago with its "burrows" surrounding London City.

Andy seams flexible with this, once stated we should upload to the next closest city but here MD doesn't seem logical, perhaps we can rename or create "Mexico City" with a note in the destination guide refering to the district?

Thanks Rudi. I'll write a destination guide for Mexico Distrito Federal and mention that this is Mexico City (when I have time) .

Hi There

I had a look at it too.

There are these entries available:
Country province place
Mexico Baja California Mexico
Mexico Chihuahua Mexico
Mexico Distrito Federal Mexico
Mexico Distrito Federal Mexico Distrito Federal
Mexico Durango Mexico
Mexico México Mexico
Mexico Sonora Mexico
Mexico Tamaulipas Mexico Libre

as there is no entry called Meixco City, i't load content under country: Mexico Province: Distrito Federal Place: Mexico

Most people might find content by searching for Mexico.

My two cents

Otherwise use the Landmark function

Marianne, please request a new target "Mexico City", it would help GLOBO and its members to plan Mexico generally I think. We can use "Mexico Distrito Federal" for spanish reports and uploades like we have Munich = München.
RR

Added: This will only take 1-3 days (not months) since the backlog of new entries is cleared, I believe
