As promised, I want to begin a list of locations for which the "Search" function is not allowing us to post locations for the Destinations function. I know that I will have many more to add, but beginning a list will help Andy and his people to find a solution for all of us. Please feel free to add your locations to this list, as I know that I will have more, also.

Belleville, Illinois
Hartford, Illinois
Woodriver, Illinois
Ina, Illinois
Belleville, Illinois
Springfield, Illinois
Madison, Illinois
Madison, Indiana

Hi Russ
Well done. I'll get thinking again.

Here are some places in SW England for a start – I’m trying to turn on what passes for my memory, because I know there are other places. Some of them [eg Saint Just in Roseland] are listed twice under travel tips, doubtless because they were already there before I suggested them – at first I thought if a place was listed at all, I’d find it by using the search box at the top of a page.
All are listed for Travel Tips. None are listed for destinations. I’m only putting places where I should hope to do a destination guide.
CORNWALL
Tintagel
Saint Just in Roseland
Bedruthan

DEVON
Clovelly
Hartland
Buckland in the Moor
Widecombe in the Moor

SOMERSET
Dulverton

DORSET
Weymouth
Dorchester

Good news! I don't know whether Andy/somebody has done something or whether there was a blip before but the places that were not on the site at all that I suggested today, unlike the last batch, have all come on for destination reports as well as travel tips. Thanks, if appropriate.
However, here are some more that won't come up for destination reports:
Gloucestershire Gloucester
Berkeley

Shropshire Ellesmere

Worcestershire Worcester

Cheers, David

Hello everybody,

the reason why this destination is not available through the search field on the top, is because no member has published anything on those places.
The goal of the search field is to find content which you members have published. If we would list every city inside the globo data, no other search results would show up and it would just not make sense.

For example: Belleville, Illinois is available on GLOBO. Publish a report, a travel tip or a picture on it, and it will come available automaticaly on the search field above.

Hope this helps,

Andy

Thanks, Andy. That makes more sense. Some of these places may have one wonderful attribute, but are not large enough to have sufficient information to write a travel report of the standards that we are trying to set. We can all try to keep the information flowing, though. Thanks,

Russ

Hi Andy,
Sorry but it doesn't seem that the search corresponds to what you say.
1. I have done travel tips on both Tintagel and Hartland but neither shows up if I put them in the search box at the top.
2. Bigbury on Sea, Noss Mayo, Milton Combe and Brendon all do come up, although according to your message they shouldn't. I'm glad they do because I think I can do destination reports but nothing else on three of them.
3. Clovelly doesn't come up - correctly according to your message. I can't think of a valid travel tip there but it's not without interest for a destination report. I suppose it will just have to manage without one.
Cheers, David

Hi David,

you are right, there seems to be an error inside this. That is a very complex algorithm and I currently do not have the time to look into it.
I have put it onto the todo list and as soon as there is a gap, I wll fix it.

Best regards,

andy

Thanks, Andy
Don't bust a gut on it! There's plenty to be getting on with.

Hi Folks

For all those interested in the hard cases mentioned above there seams to be a solution.

First look here and find out if it's helpful:
