I'm just looking into land tours of Greece for myself and hubby's 10th anniversary. Planning to go next spring for budget reasons. Does anybody know of good websites that offer fairly all-inclusive guided tours? Or is it easier/cheaper to go through a local travel agency? The folks I've called through the internet don't seem to be especially helpful, so far, plus there seem to be many extra fees that aren't clearly presented. Thanks! I want to keep this to about $1500 per person and see as much as we can in 7-10 days or whatever the budget will allow.

Hi, I don`t know any specific site for the whole trip, but if you are travelling along Europe, even if it's only aroun one country you can check the INTER-RAIL ticket. Allows you to take as many trains as you want in a one month period. It's around 300€, but if you are thinking on a 10 days trip... maybe its too much...
As I was working in Greece, I would say that the best choise with low budget is to look around for yourself. And find the guiding tours on the spot. Here are some ideas....
Start with Athens. Then take the local train to Thessaloniki. Athens will take about 3-4 days, Thessaloniki 2. But with train you can make the stops between, for example Leptokaria (close to Mount Olympus) and Larisa. For more accurate information see http://www.ose.gr/
Or consentrate on one area. That way you can experience more Greek lifestyle. For example Pelion or Halkidiki (Kassandra peninsula). It's quit simple to use the local bus there.
There are many guided tours in Mainland Greece from Athens.
