Hi there,
I have only dived off Koh Tao but I would recommend heading down and going into the dive shops to get a feel for the people running it, the instructors and the equipment that they are using (it can be dodgy at times). One thing I really hate are those operations that seem to be "an old boys club". I have never had a problem getting a dive short notice.
Kandath, FYI Scuba stands for Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus in other words you get to breathe underwater, you should try it it is a whole other world down there.
I don't know website about scuba diving in Phuket/ Koh Phi Phi, I just know a website about Hainan, China. It's Chinese diving base. www.chinasanya.com

... as scuba-diver I am very keen to take up the great travel-dive package deals offered by specialists www.orca.de for Thailand or elsewhere one day! RRudi
P.S: Definition of "Scuba diving": underwater exploration with help of previously compressed air supplied to the single diver via a (pressure) regulator from bottles. Warning: is very catchy and once hooked is hazardous to previous time planning, relationships and life priorities :-) Needs certification to be carried out safely!
