Hi there,

I would like to replace my kitt lens for the 400D with a better one concerning f.

2.8 would be nice with a wide angle but going up to 70mm as well. All the ones from Canon seem to be to expensive. Does someone has already made experiances with the Tamron lenses? Are they any good?

Thank you for any hint,

Andy

My camara is Canon 350D, similar to yours. I was not happy with the kit lense at all and bought Canon lense EF-S 17-85MM f4-5.6 IS USM

It is good improvement on the kit lense at an affordable price. (about €500), another things I like about this lense is that is is not too heavy and to large.

All my recent Prague photos in the gallery were taken with this lense and most of my Tunisia photos (but I took some with my Canon Ixus)

see for details

Hello Marianne,

I was also thinking about that lense, but I am searching for one that has a higher f as I do love available light shots.

Any suggestions for a 2.8 lense?

Regards,

andy
