My mate's just dropped out of our inter-railing round Europe plans so I was thinking instead of going to South America. Mainly Brazil, Peru, Bolivia and Argentina. I want to see Machu Pichu, the rainforest and just generally have fun and chill out. Anybody interested?
I'd like to meet up with you. I've changed my travelling plans a bit. I’m now planning to go to Brazil in April to do a conservation project for two months, then I’m hoping to travel to Bolivia via the Pantanal, then though Peru and Ecuador for a further three months. I will probably be in Lima some time in July. I don't study spanish but I would like to if I have the chance.
I'd like to hear more about the conservation project you'll be working on in Brazil. I have an ecotourism company, but nobody is traveling these days, so I have some time on my hands. I'll be in Brazil in May and might want to do something worthwhile with my time. On the other hand, I might just want to hang out at the beach and drink caiprinhas. Either way, I'd like to hear what's up with your project.
I'm not doing a conservation project anymore, because it hasn't started yet. I'm going to do a teaching project with www.travellersworldwide.com instead for two months, starting next week. It's in Foz de Iquacu. After that I don't know what I'm doing anymore, though I would like to spend some time horse riding, do you know anywhere that you would recomend?
I haven't been horseback riding in Foz. But if you get up to Bahia, I highly recommend Ilha Boipeba. There's a great Albergue there called Parada dos Mochileiros run by Gado and Claudia. They can hook you up with horseback riding, and Gado is a good guide. They are a young Argentinian couple who moved to Brazil last year.
In the state of Rio de Janeiro, near Barra do Pirai, Roberto owns an eco-preserve called Santuario de Vida Silvestre da Serra da Concordia. He can arrange horseback riding.
I'm in Costa Rica and don't have his phone number with me. I'll look it up and send it to you when I get back to the States next week.
