Hi there i will be leavin for thailand in 2-3 weeks on my own seeing as the mate who was supposed to be travellin with me bottled it at the last minute just wondered if any one has similar plans and fancies hookin up with me or has any advice for me travelllin alone this will be my first backpacking trip if so please get in touch

Heading back to Thailand in the summer but already have my nephew in tow!
I had no problems as i travelled alone around Thailand. A few words of Thai also go a long way.
Depending on where you are going you will probably meet up with other backpackers anyway.
And don't take too much. You soon realise how little you need when you have to carry it!

your first backpacking trip,, Enjoy!! some tips for you though..
1.DO NOT CHECK YOUR PACK UNDER THE PLANE.. TAKE IT WITH YOU EVERYWHERE, NOTHING LIKE YOUR PACK GOING ONE PLACE AND YOU ANOTHER.
2. DO NOT BRING AEROSOL BUG SPRAY. CUSTOMS MAY NOT LET IT THROUGH. TRUE FOR USA. I WAS GOING TO AFRICA FOR A FEW MONTHS AND THEY CONFISCATED ALL MY BUG SPRAY..
3. AFTER YOU PACK YOUR BAG.. UNPACK IT AND BRING HALF. THEN PACK AGAIN AND BRING HALF OF THAT. REMEMBER MOST HYGENIC THINGS CAN BE BOUGHT THERE FOR CHEAPER THAN YOU WOULD BUY HERE.
