Did anyone notice how abruptly the top 40 photos changed overnight? Many of these pictures have 25 or more ratings, yet the order was changed significantly in the past 18 hours. Did we have an influx of new members rating the pictures? I have no problems with the ratings, just noticed the major change.

I noticed this too, supposed the system is sometimes reset or something. Naturally some pictures are shown at the top if only rated once at ***** and then slowly move to the bottom, but ive noticed that even some 4,5 ratings show on the first page like www.globosapiens.net/dizzydean/picture-moutain-view-15180.html (a good picture I never saw before) which shouldnt be! I can only assume that some old archives have been added or some top pictures have been deleted or the sort function isnt working properly? The system is automatic, and perhaps just, as you say some members have rated the top pictures down???

There were several pictures which had been rated near the top for more than two months that no longer reside in the top 40. As you mention, other photos have risen. Yes, this is a part of the natural progression, but the overnight picture was such a radical change. It would take 5 - 10 ratings of only ** to take some of the pictures as low as they went.

I found a good example: www.globosapiens.net/britman/picture-setting-sail-from-bora-bora-17111.html jumped from about #5 to #37 overnight. Im sure that staff knows who rated these pics or has an explanation!

A year and a half later:
This has happened again today, some member/s have really had a good go and rated extremely wildly, sporadically and hopefully not dishonestly. I wish a comment to pictures was forced if more than 2* off the average instead of just a warning notice. The top 20 now are still brilliant pictures but A LOT that held so long have suddenly dropped 10-20 positions! I hope staff look into the rating logs for this strange and sudden occurrence.
