I have plans going to Indonesia in the very near future. I heard some warnings published by Australia as to possible terrorist threats around the holidays.
Anyone have any thoughts on this? I've been planning this trip for quite some time and would hate to cancel.

If you stay away from four, five star hotels and places where foreigners gather such as pubs and other places where alcohol is served, there is nothing to worry about.
Remember Indonesia is a hige country.
The Dutch Government did not issue a travel warning, only what i said above.
Happy travels

Hi Hong Kong Guy,
Actually, we do have some government warnings about avoiding Indonesia during the peak travelling season as well. Like in the case of Hilton Hotel. However, my advise is that Indonesia is a beautiful country, there are lots of places which you can go. You can avoid the main capital city like Jakarta for the time being, and visit some other places first. Some other islands are very nice too. Perhaps visit Jakarta in the future.
what about Riau? I went to Singapore once, and from there i went to Bintan Resorts (which is part of Indonesia as well). It is less than an hour's ferry ride from Singapore. Maybe if u visit Singapore, you can try.
Hope that you wouldn't have to cancel your travel plans.
