I have plans to add a 2 week vacation in Italy, to my business trip in Holland in 1st week of November.
I need some help in terms of feedback on weather and timing, whether it makes sense at the time of the year in Italy. Added to that I like to visit Switzerland for a brief 4 day stay.

Hi Kiran
November is not the ordinary travel time of the year for europe, you can find many good deals all over the place. One huge advantage is that there aren't that many tourists around. There will be no long lines in front of churches or museums to get in! A lot of places might be closed however...
The weather isn't very stable. You get a lot of precipitation either in terms of rain or snow depending on the region and the height you're at. It can be very foggy, windy and cold. So better pack some warm clothes and an umbrella and a weatherproof jacket. (Perhaps for you being indian I would recommend scarf and gloves to!)
With two weeks to spare you have plenty of time to explore the region. I would suggest not to make to much plans but go with the weather instead. There might be some key points (musts) you would like to go to or see... But a lot of stuff is availabe in several places. (Churches and Museums for instance).
If you could explain the "must" stuff for you, im sure that quite a few could help you pointing out what you could do and see on your way there. Perhaps you might also state your interests and budget (hig range, mid range, tight) This would make it a lot easyier to help.
