When to visit the Golden Triangle

I'm looking at Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Jodhpur, and really just doing a bit of research. If someone has any knowledge or experience it would be greatly appreciated. Oct-end and Nov-beginning are really pleasant. The hot summer would be over and severe winter yet to start. The weather would be pleasant.. slightly chill in the night. If you are not able to make it during this time, then I suggest visiting in Feb-end or March-beginning as it is peak of winter season during Dec-Jan. I have just moved to Bombay (where it is very warm and humid). I am waiting for November, for nice weather also. Now I'm not sure what to do. I must to some more research. Lila went back to Jaipur in January and India's winter is not very cold. She tells me it was 24 degrees C while she was there. Rainy season is mid-June through August. The height of Rajasthan's travel season is October through March. In April it starts heating up. Have a wonderful time! I would do that trip a dozen times over! My advise is to hire a driver in Delhi- I love the old Ambassadors, try and get as good an english speaking one as possible, he will know the route and the hotels and stopping points - most hotels look after the driver when you stay there - you must go to the Taj Mahal at either sunset or sunrise - it looks awsome - it almost changes colour as the sun sets behind it... Find a guide in Agra - when you get to the Taj you will be swarmed by government approved guides - they're charges are quite high - and the one we took was useless - i kew more about the love story than he did- and really as you are on the borders of Rajasthan - the desert state dont worry about the weather its usually dry. Next time i go though i will travel south and come home from Bombay or Goa - i bought a return to delhi last time and regretted not looking at the option of coming home from the south - i got some cheap flights from these guys - www.hoodaki.com [ This Message was edited by: spenny on 2007-09-20 14:04 ] --- The journey, not the arrival, matters. I already regret buying a London Delhi - I know realised how restricting this is. Ohh well I will have to make the best out of a bad situation.
