we are a group of divers going to zanzibar next month. can anyone tell me how much money one person would need to get by for a day, meals etc. (not dives)? on the topic, how much is a basic meal?

Came home from Zanzibar yesterday. A hot meal costs between 2 and 10 USD, depending on place and dish. Accomodation in all categories, ranging from backpacker standard at USD 20 for a double to luxuary hotels at several hundred dolllars a room. A beer (half litre) is between 1 and 2 USD and a bottle of wine 10 - 15 USD at restaurant. You probably know that Matemwe at the east coast is known to be the best spot for diving.

You should go diving around Mnemba. It is easily accessible from Nungwi. The diving is awesome there. Good reefs and no divers.
