I wish I was comming with you but just dont have the bucks right now. When I return to Tunesia (and I sure will) i'll spend more time:
- in the Atlas mountains with the Berbers
- in the oassiis at Tozeur and Nefta
- sleeping in the desert in a tent (camel safari)
- sleeping in a cave in the mountains
- explore the luscous north coast
- take a day ferry to Malta and back
- try a shopping-day crossing to Algeria or Libya
- take a decent map and pen with (place names are very confusing)
Unlike you, I loved similar Morocco too, just get out of the capital and stay away from your disliked "touristy places" like Djerba which you will not tolerate and marinas north of Monastir (Monastir itself though is charming)..... RR

too bad you can't come...
- in the Atlas mountains with the Berbers (did that in Moroc.)
- in the oassiis at Tozeur and Neftan ( never saw an oasis, just a mirage in Egypt)
- sleeping in the desert in a tent (camel safari) (did this in Moroc.. woke up in the middle of a sand storm!!! ever trying peeing on a dune with 50km winds whipping at your butt!!
- sleeping in a cave in the mountains (maybe I will do this)
- explore the luscous north coast (definitly do this but stay out of the tourist areas..)
- take a day ferry to Malta and back (Can you get into Malta without a visa? Can you get one off the ferry? would love to do that!!)
- try a shopping-day crossing to Algeria or Libya (Good luck with that...make sure you get some invitations first.. I'll let you know how it goes)
- take a decent map and pen with (place names are very confusing) (I will buy a map when I get there)
