Brunei, What to expect?
I found it was not a cheap place for a visit, except for fuel for our Hire Car. I also found it very interesting, and full of friendly people. I was glad I had come for a visit!

Brunei is located 443kms north of the Equator

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN is the CAPITAL OF BRUNEI!

We stayed at the Traders Inn Hotel in Bandar Seri Begawan. The Hotel was located away from the centre, but we didn't mind, the price was way cheaper than elsewhere, the Hotel and Staff were good, and there was a daily shuttle to the city centre, what more could we want!

We hired a car so we could get out and about and away from the city itself. This was a good idea as we saw so much more, driving was easy, and fuel was cheap.

Being a rich country, there are lots of impresssive buildings and large

homes to see, as well as the poorer looking Kampong Ayer water village.

The Mosques are beautiful, [must see's] museums were good, and the shopping area was small enough to walk around.

We found the Brunei people to be one of the friendliest that we had met

We were lucky and had good weather. Brunei has high rainfall and high humidity. Proboscis Monkey's with their big noses live here.

I found out, that the people of Brunei love their Sultan, who is the 29th ascendant of the world's oldest continuously reigning royal line, (600years).

Favourite spots:

My favorite sights were ...

The Kampong Ayer Water Village. We had a wonderful time being shown this village by a local fireman in his own Boat. He told us about everything, and even slowed down for me to take photo's!

The Mosque's...They are stunning.

The Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque is right next door to the Mall. It is a must see in the day & night time when it is lit up.

Jame'Asr Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque has beautiful gardens surrounding it.

I enjoyed the craft museum, the museum and the local market. Food was cheap to buy here.

What's really great:
Royal Regalia Museum

Probably my favorite, was the Royal Regalia Museum. I wouldn't mind going back and spending more time there.
