Llandudno is a pleasant seaside resort which mainly attracts families and the elderly. It offers great architecture, a pebble beach, enjoyable hiking, and many theater productions.

Llandudno is a very attractive place. It is on a peninsula surrounded by views of seaside and inland the hills of Snowdonia. It is a small place of a little over 20,000 people with inexpensive shopping and restaurants all a short walk from anywhere in town. There is a nice promenade to walk along the beach and the limestone headland of the Great Orme beckons hikers with its wonderful views of the coast, pastures, and the Irish Sea.

The Llandudno Pier is a nice place to walk and offers a small amusement park and like most tourist attractions in Llandudno tries to hard to make people nostalgic for earlier times. During the tourist season, there is a free puppet show on the promenade next to the pier.

| What's really great: |
|
Walking to the town of Conwy along the estuary and the river Conwy to see the Castle is a great way to spend a day. You can also get here on frequent tours from Llandudno. The Conwy Castle and town walls are very impressive and well preserved. Conwy Castle and town walls were built by Edward I between 1283 and 1289.

The Great Orme is Llandudno's most famous sight. It looms over town. It steep walk up, or a short ride on cable car, or tram. Once on the top, a lot of views of the Llandudno pier, sheep grazing, the Snowdonias, Little Orme, and the Irish Sea. There is a old copper mine Museum, and a toboggan run on the Great Orme.

I did not count the Bed & Breakfasts in Llandudno, but it did seem as if almost every house in town was one. I stayed at the Moorfield Hotel. I had a nice large room with a shared bath, and they served a fantastic English breakfast.

| Nightlife: |
|
There are English pubs on almost every block in town. There are a number of singing and skits shows which cost about 6-7 pounds in the summer most with a nostalgic theme, like one with 1940's music and jokes. There were also a few churches with singers and choral performances on the weekends. The North Wales Theatre "Venue Cymru" usually has touring productions for about 20 pounds.

|
There are numerous restaurants, and fast food outlets like McDonalds (which has free wifi) and a Subway. For grocery shopping there is a Asda near the center of town .
