I found my old journal with some notes of my last visit to my birthplace, Manila, and I just wanted to share my experience since I haven't visited the Philippines since I was 16 (I'm now 18). :)
The last time I visited the Philippines was for my Lolo and Lola's (Grandpa and Grandma's) 50th wedding anniversary. The only thing I can remember from that time was swiming in Puerto Vallerta in the island of Mindoro, learning how to run and catch a ride in a jeepney, and my grandma's awesome homemade Adobo. Now, in my latest trip, I discovered the wonders of shopping in the Philippines. Everything is waaayyyy cheaper than the States. I can buy 4 cds for the price of one (and for a 16 year old, that was great!).
Favourite spots:
My favorite spots would definetely have to be the Mega Mall, Green Hills, and downtown Makati. All places have geat shopping and have great people watching spots.
What's really great:
I especially liked the fact that I got to see my family. I barely get to see them, and spending a whole month with them was great. Another aesome thing is the fact that I got to spend time in a country that has a lot of my culture and favorite food!
Accommodations:
The only recommendation i can give you is that if you have family members there, stay with them, Filipino families are great. But, if you prefer hotels, I suggest looking somewhere in Makati.
