Lovely little kaqchikel village

About eight kilometers pretty much straight uphill from Panajachel, excellent to get away from the crowds - there were two more tourists in town during our entire stay.

Favourite spots:
There are no places of great importance or any particular sights, it´s cosy just to stroll the streets and chat to people. Some Spanish a huge advantage as pretty much anywhere else in Guatemala.

What's really great:
Hoy es navidad...
Hoy es navidad...
Celebrated christmas with the other Norwegian in town and her huge maya family-in-law and was assisting Santa Claus racing around the mountains in a pickup truck on christmas eve - excellent! And killing the dinner turkey was fun as well...

Sights:

The cone of some volcano pops up across some corn fields, there´s a nice chapel and they´re restoring some old church ruins - but nothing of huge importance. A short walk gives you an amazing view of Lago de Atitlan. But the people are the main attracion.

Accommodations:
Christmas tradition. Note the fireworks hanging on it - it's lit at midnight, with dancer inside.

There´s hospedaje de Lisbet, run by a Norwegian married to a local, was very clean for being a hospedaje, shared but nice bathrooms, Q50 a person a night. And saw one other nameless hospedaje.

Nightlife:
Non-existent.

Hangouts:
San Andres Semetabaj travelogue picture
Non-existent, but commuting to Panajachel for a night is no problem - buses and pickups run back and forth from early morning till about eight PM, Q2 each way, and later on it´s about Q20 for a taxi - they can be hard to come across in Pana if it gets really late though.

Restaurants:

There´s a pizzeria...and three tiendas.
