i am looking for someone who is interested in going to belize this december. i know this is short notice, but i somehow managed to save more money then expected and i want to travel. i have not been out of the US (other then canada and mexico) since i was very young and i think belize would be a nice alternative to cleveland in the winter.
as of right now i am traveling alone. this is not ideal for me since being a female alone in a foreign country is not necessarily best. also, amazing experiences are often made that much better when you can share them with another person.
belize, like costa rica. has amazing beaches and rain forests. however, it is not as "touristy" and also has things like mayan ruins and the world largest great barrier reef outside of australia. i think it would be a lot of fun to spend half the time in the interior in the rainforest...hiking, exploring mayan sites, etc...and the other half snorkeling, swimming with manatee, lounging on the beach drinking cocktails and smoking cuban cigars.... i am going to be planing the itinerary next week, but i was hooping to find a partner before i started.
i know a week is a very short time, and i would maybe extend it a day or two, but i have to get back to work. round trip to belize is only 500$ from my location, and i imagine it cannot be much more from other places in the US since cleveland isn't exactly a major travel hub. )
i know its sort of strange for me to be asking randomly on a message board for someone to travel with me but all my friends are either too poor, have to work, are about to buy a house, etc...and i will go by myself but i don't really want to.
if anyone is interested, let me know b/c i want to get started on making reservations and planing out a potential itinerary.
