Searching for a good "alwayson" lens for a Canon DSLR 400D

andreas Joined: May 02 Points: 8309 Posts: 808 Posted: 2007-11-28 16:17:00    Hi there, I would like to replace my kitt lens for the 400D with a better one concerning f. 2.8 would be nice with a wide angle but going up to 70mm as well. All the ones from Canon seem to be to expensive. Does someone has already made experiances with the Tamron lenses? Are they any good? I was not happy with the kit lense at all and bought Canon lense EF-S 17-85MM f4-5.6 IS USM It is good improvement on the kit lense at an affordable price. (about €500), another things I like about this lense is that is is not too heavy and to large. Any suggestions for a 2.8 lense?
