Hi There

Here I would like to post some links to useful technical informations about cameras and settings:

TV time value

The amount of time that the shutter stays open

iso setting:

The setting of the sensitivity of your "film" it has to do with noise and also is important for the time value.

Correct exposure (correct AV/TV settings)

Depth of field (depending on AV setting)

Night shots tips: (depending on Iso/AV/TV settings)

Thanks Martin. I know this sort of thing requires some time and it's very helpful.

Thanks Martin, that helps. We often need these terms when discussing how a picture is taken and commenting on a picture in the GLOBOgallery. For film photography we use the term "shutter speed", never heard of "TV = Time Value" before but times and jargon do change a lot! :-)

I upgraded my digital camera a bit, gave the old one to my niece, now have to start from scratch learning all the new menus, symbols, settings and buttons. I'm very impatient with handbooks but suppose I'll get into using the thing properly after about a year! Further, I have "bricklayer hands" and those buttons are getting smaller : - ( RR
