Inspired by GLOBO members that love tranquility and peace, it shows in their photos displaying reflections and absolute calmness in their invironment. Here are the best 100 of 196 submitted sorted basically by rating: [List updated 2006-12-01]
The first two were rated with 2 stars, I suppose you either like reflections or not. because in a way they distort reality. The last picture has not beenrated yet as I just uploaded it. This was a tricky one as I did not want to be in it . I took it handheld, but hid behind a wall, put the camera out and this is the result.
What do you want us to do, just rate the other pictures?

I don't know what link to give to the pictures. When I open your links the pictures can be rated. When i open the links to mine (see above post) They cannot be rated. I went to 'pictures' the general one and took the link from there. Can you help?

Hi you two
What a great Idea to create this ranking! Rudi am I allowed to give you a hand in updating the ranking in your original post and adding one or the other to the list? (As moderator I'got the possibility to modify your post)
Marianne and Rudi when you want to post a link make sure you go to the member page of the concerned member and open the picture there. The URL should always be
Thank you for the suggestion about discussing the photos by their themes. You are correct that many of the pictures that you mentioned are interesting in their use of reflections. This is an interesting technique that adds to the art of photography. I would like to add some links to some of the photos that use reflection in their themes that I admire. Here is a beginning of my list:
I especially like the two pictures that GloriaJames took and the one that I took in the Okefenokee Swamp. OK, why are the hyperlinks not showing? ANyway, that is my list.

I like that idea Marianne, a "Theme-of-the-Month" for old and new pictures. However, a theme should continue months after as new members and pictures arrive. Perhaps we could also nominate a next theme here. Having about 10 thems running simutaneously whould also not be bad? When nominating new themes please choose something relavant to the whole world, not like "Snow-and-Ice" or "Christmas" (perhaps?), rather "Extreme Weather" or "December-Festivals", Martin or Staff should decide on the next theme.
Ive noticed that the rating of the pictures we are discussing have gone up one or two stars. They are all gems and deserve more attention. I think some raters didnt know what they were looking at! Also, hope some will dig deep into there archives for new travel pics based on the themes.
Martin, should we update the list soon for a better overview, best picture first.: "[rating] [picture-link]" ? Perhaps we should have the updated list right at the beginning, first entry in this Forum, for a better overview?
