Member opinion: UPDATE!!
Thought i'd update you on the Skytrain's new route opening from Suvarnabhumi International Airport.
Reports from the Bangkok Post Newspaper suggest that as from August 9th 2009 you'll be able to travel to and from the airport into the city. (Seek further information nearer the time to avoid potential travel problems).
As any regular traveller to Bangkok knows what it's like using taxis at the airport, some tourists have been ripped off by taxi/ limo touts who charge up to a whopping 5 times more than official airport taxis to drive into the city centre.
But, from August 2009 tourists can opt to use the clean, airconditioned efficiently run BTS Skytrain to get directly into central Bangkok.
Fares are yet to be anounced, however, it's likely to be less than the average 325 Baht (£6.50) taxi fare.
